Gencon Oz DVD

As most of you may know, over the course of Gencon 2009 there was a film and photography crew collecting footage for the Gencon Oz DVD. The footage covers most of the event, including;

* Costume Competition
* Game tournaments/finals
* Guest stars
* Stage presentations
* Cosplay Chess
* Talks with various booths, sponsors, and community groups at Gencon
* Cosplay Olympics
and many more things, including shots of the entire convention and attendees having a great time over the weekend. You may have been part of the groups that we filmed shouting either "GENCON!" or "Games for Everyone!"

The DVD will be available for purchase shortly for $25AU+Postage and Handling.

Just wondering what the deal is with the pre-ordered Dvd's.
I pre-ordered on the 2nd day and don't really know whether or not I have to pick the Dvd up or if it's being mailed to me. Any help would be dearly appreciated

The DVDs are only being produced to order and after the show, all of the footage needed to be cut and formatted - there was a LOT of raw footage taken.

The company who is producing the DVDs has a massive workload and is behind with the delivery of our DVD. Other events have huge delays so its not surprising that we to are a little behind schedule.

This is what I was told by our DVD liaison:

"You should definitely have them by the end of November, although the schedule is set for before then (roughly 20th November)"

We will be mailing them out to people who have pre-ordered the DVD as soon as we have them.

It is currently December 18th, and I'm still unsure if the DVDs have been sent yet.

I live in Albany Creek, Brisbane and I pre-ordered the DVD at the very end of the convention and would just like to know if they've been sent off yet.

Could the Gencon 'Powers that be' please let us know?

Hello!

Sorry about that, unfortunately the time line we personally set was best case scenario pending that we didn't come across any problems. Unfortunately we encountered a few issues, including one technical one. However, the DVD itself is finished and being compiled as a DVD with case and cover today! I have offered to mail the DVDs directly from here but it is my understanding that Gencon would like the DVDs to be delivered to them before they are sent out.

We are hoping that pending the postal strike you should have them shortly! Again I'm very sorry to keep you waiting, I was personally aiming for the end of November and unfortunately in the end that wasn't possible for not one but a number of reasons. But now it's only a matter of days!

Pending the postal strike, you should have it really soon! We are in the very last stages here and the DVDs should be in your hands soon after that.

For those that don't know, Kylie is the producer and director of the Gen Con OZ DVD. I'm sure that everyone is looking forward to the release of the DVD.
